Carla Maia de Almeida, Portugal

Carla Maia de Almeida, born in 1969 in Matosinhos (Portugal), studied Communications and also obtained a postgraduate degree in Children’s and Young Adult Literature.

Today, she works as a free-lance journalist, writer, and translator. Among other accomplishments, she is the editor of the children’s literature section for the magazine LER. She has published several picture books. Her first book for teens, Irmão Lobo (Brother Wolf), is also her debut novel in the German book market. The German edition, Bruder Wolf, was published in February 2016 by FISCHER Sauerländer.
