Sally Nicholls, Great Britain

Sally Nicholls was born in 1983 in Stockton, England. As a child she lived in books and invented stories. After graduating high school, she traveled and studied philosophy and literature. Her debut novel Ways To Live Forever was written as part of the degree program “Writing for Young People” at Bath Spa University, and was published when she was only 23 years old. It was translated into eighteen languages, received numerous awards, and was nominated for the German Youth Literature Prize.

Her other books published since then also impress with their fresh, authentic narrative tone and address existential topics with candour and a love for life. The author lives with her family in Oxford.

Sally Nicholls will be accompanied by her translator Beate Schäfer, who also leads writing workshops and works as a freelance editor.
