Benny Lindelauf, born in 1964 in the province of Limburg, loved to listen to the stories of his grandmother. As a grown up, he attended the renowned Theaterschool in Amsterdam, then danced and played in various youth theater productions. In low times actorial engagements, he began writing stories for children with great fun and success. Meanwhile, Benny Lindelauf has made writing a profession and teaches creative writing in his home town of Rotterdam.

The author of a two-volume family saga takes time to develop his stories and lovingly drawn figures and approaches cautiously contemporary-historical themes. He has an "indestructible gallows humor" (Süddeutsche Zeitung).
