Gusti, Argentinia/Spain

Gusti was born in 1963 in Buenos Aires. After studiying design and advertising graphics, he worked as a cartoonist and as an illustrator for children's magazines.  He has lived in Barcelona since the late 1980s. Gusti published numerous picture books with his own texts and illustrations but has also illustrated books for other authors. Some of his books have been published in more than 20 countries.

Gusti has received many awards, including the Spanish Premio Nacional de Ilustración, the Golden Apple of the Biennale Bratislava, and a Bologna Ragazzi Award Special Mention for his book “Mallko y papá”. He teaches illustration at the College of Design and Art EINA, leads art courses for children and is the co-founder of an association that offers art workshops for people with disabilities.
