Kenneth Oppel, Canada

Canadian fantasy and science fiction writer Kenneth Oppel was born in British Columbia on August 31, 1967. He grew up in Victoria and Halifax. While still at school he wrote his first book "Colin's Fantastic Video Adventure". After finishing school, Kenneth Oppel studied at the University of Toronto in Ontario and worked for a publishing house before deciding to pursue a career as a writer.

He became famous with his "Bat Trilogy". Today Oppel lives with his wife Philippa Shepphard in Cornerbrook, Newfoundland.

His favourite leisure activities: Reading, watching movies, long walks and travelling.
