Suzan Geridönmez was born in Kaiserslautern, Germany, in 1966, but at the age of 14 she decided to live with relatives in Turkey. She studied German language and literature in Istanbul and later directed a school library. When her daughter was small, she wanted to read her her favorite children's books from Germany - but there were no Turkish issues. Therefore, she began to translate German authors such as Christine Nöstlinger, Kirsten Boie and Silke Lambeck from German to Turkish. Since 2007 she has published a youth novel, stories for young adults and a children's book. In addition, she is a lecturer at Günışığı Kinderbuchverlag. Suzan Geridönmez lives with her partner, her daughter, two cats and a dog in Istanbul.
