Martin Muser, Germany

Martin Muser was born in 1965 in Stuttgart and lives today in Berlin. He studied at the Berlin University of the Arts before working as a journalist, dramaturge, and lecturer as well as writing film scripts. Today he writes mainly for children and youth. His first children’s book “Kannawoniwasein! Sometimes you just have to beat it!” was named “Luchs of the Month” in August 2018 and appeared on the recommendation list of the Oldenburg Children’s and Youth Book Prize.

In his books Martin Muser often adopts very different literary sounds. With “The fire brigade arrives in the nude” he recently published his first story-in-rhyme for first readers. His dark young adult debut novel “Because” deals with spiralling violence and disastrous group dynamics, while the fast-paced children’s book series “Kannawoniwasein!” is a delightful read for young and old. Martin Muser loves doing readings and was named reading artist of the year for 2020 by the German Booksellers’ Association.

The events with Martin Muser are moderated by Pierre Jarawan, author, literary stage artist, and photographer.
