Until now Pia Peppermint has lived with her mother Maja, father Paul and the tomcat Fussel in a flat in the Berrystreet. But now they are going to move into a two-story apartment house in Poplar Tree Street 5. Moving house is just as exciting as their new neighbourhood, where Pia gets to know new people and animals. There is an engineering student named Mirjam, who lives with her Saint Bernhard dog, Baron, above the Peppermint family, and has the best tennis backhand on the entire street. Or the dandified Walter Wolf, a junior politician, who lives with his great uncle on the ground floor and turns into thin air as soon as someone approaches him. And let us not forget Ronja, the moth who lives in the wardrobe and has lots of helpful clothing tips for the farewell party at kindergarten. The 31 colourfully illustrated short stories exude a joie de vivre and follow the fantasy-filled days of the pre-school child Pia in her first year in her new home.
