Sabine Bohlmann, Germany
Sabine Bohlmann was born in 1969 in Munich, where she still lives today. She is one of the most beloved and successful children’s book authors in Germany. To come as close to her career wish – “princess” – as possible, she completed training as an actor. In fact, she often stood before the camera in the role of a titled noblewoman and appeared in the German TV series “Marienhof”. As a voice actress, she has given her voice to characters such as Myrtle in the Harry Potter films and Lisa in “The Simpsons”. Sabine Bohlmann develops dialogue scripts for dubbing, writes plays for children’s theatre and, since 2004, has published over 50 children’s books.
Whether twisted, fairy-tale-like stories such as her prize-winning bestseller series about Frau Honig or the bizarre fantasies about the Grause family: Sabine Bohlmann’s endearingly told stories convey joy, stimulate the imagination and celebrate differentness. In her readings, she combines her talents as an actress and as a writer. For her achievements she was named reading artist of the year in 2023 by the German Association of Publishers and Booksellers.
